EXPLORE NEW APPEARANCES

One 3D Model. Different Looks to Explore.

These are creative scenarios, not measured before-and-after samples. AI results depend on your model and reference image.

01

Game Prop

From an Ordinary Prop to a Fantasy-Inspired Asset

Have a treasure chest, shield, sword, or other prop that looks too plain? Use a reference showing the colors and surface details you want to explore, such as weathered metal, painted wood, or worn leather. Check whether the result suits the model and your game’s style.

Explore surface styles without starting a new 3D model.

02

3D Character

Explore Another Look for Your Character

Keep the character silhouette you like while trying another surface appearance. A reference image can suggest new colors, fabric patterns, or an illustrated style. Inspect facial details, clothing, and small accessories.

Try a different visual direction for an existing character.

03

Decorative Object

See Your Favorite Object With a New Finish

Experiment with a new finish for a decorative object, toy, miniature, or personal product concept. Use a reference to explore painted, stylized, or material-inspired appearances. The output is not a physically verified material specification.

Explore visual ideas before choosing a direction.

THREE SIMPLE STEPS

How to Add New Textures to a 3D Model With AI

Explore a different surface appearance without manually painting every part of the model.

1

Upload or Select Your 3D Model

Start with a GLB from your computer or select an eligible completed model in your account. Choose a model whose overall shape you want to keep working with.

2

Add Your Texture Reference Image

Upload a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image showing the colors, patterns, materials, or artistic style you want to explore. Use a clear photo, visual reference, or other image that communicates the intended look.

3

Generate, Preview, and Download

Start AI texturing. When it is ready, rotate the model in the 3D viewer and inspect it from different angles. If it suits your project, download it in an available format.

MORE CREATIVE POSSIBILITIES

Your 3D Model Doesn’t Need to Look the Same Forever

You may like a model’s shape but want to explore different colors, materials, or visual styles. Reference-guided AI texturing gives you another way to try those ideas.

Give an Existing Model a Fresh Appearance

Explore a new surface look for a character or object without restarting the full 3D creation process.

Use Images to Communicate Your Idea

Upload a visual reference for the colors, materials, and surface style you want to explore.

Experiment With Visual Styles

Try colorful, realistic-looking, stylized, or material-inspired directions, depending on the model and reference.

Spend Less Time on Manual Texture Experiments

AI can create a starting appearance to inspect and potentially refine in your preferred software.

Work With Models You Already Own

Use a compatible GLB from your collection or select an eligible model in your account.

Preview Your Result in 3D

Inspect the processed model interactively before deciding whether to use it.

SURFACE APPEARANCE

Explore Different Colors, Materials, and Surface Styles

The AI interprets your image reference and generates a new textured model. It does not guarantee exact copying or physically accurate material properties.

Color Appearance

Try a different palette for a character, prop, or object, such as warmer, darker, or brighter decorative colors.

Material-Inspired Looks

Use wood, metal, stone, fabric, or leather references to explore similar-looking surfaces. The result is visual, not a verified material specification.

Decorative Patterns

Explore stripes, printed designs, illustrated details, and other patterns. Small text and complex patterns may not reproduce accurately.

Stylized Appearances

Try cartoon-inspired, painted, fantasy, or other artistic directions. Results depend on the reference and original mesh.

Surface Detail

The AI may add visual details such as weathering or decoration. These affect appearance and do not necessarily change actual geometry.

BETTER INPUTS, BETTER STARTING POINTS

Choose an Image That Clearly Shows the Look You Want

A clear reference can help communicate the visual direction you are aiming for.

Use a Clear, High-Quality Image

Choose a reference where important colors, materials, and patterns are easy to see. Avoid blurry or heavily compressed images when possible.

Focus on the Appearance You Want

For wood, show visible grain and colors. For a painted style, choose an image with a clear palette.

Avoid Conflicting Styles

Many unrelated materials, objects, and visual styles can make the result unpredictable. Try one clear visual direction.

Consider the Shape of Your Model

A reference suitable for a simple prop may not suit a detailed character. Choose one that makes sense for the model’s surfaces and proportions.

Inspect Small Details Carefully

Logos, readable text, symmetrical designs, and fine patterns may change. Review the result if these details matter.

Use Files You Have Permission to Process

Only submit reference images and models you own or have permission to use.

Supported: PNG, JPEG, WebP · Maximum image size: 10 MB

CREATIVE USE CASES

Give Your 3D Projects a Different Visual Direction

Game Props

Explore New Looks for Your Game Objects

Try another style for a fantasy item, decorative prop, or piece of game equipment before editing the asset further.

3D Characters

Try a Different Appearance for Your Character

Experiment with surface colors, clothing textures, and visual styles. This does not replace clothing, change pose, or preserve every small detail.

AI-Generated 3D Models

Improve the Visual Direction of an AI-Generated Asset

If the shape works but the surface look does not, try retexturing instead of generating a different object.

Decorative Objects

Explore Materials and Finishes on Personal Designs

Experiment with a vase, toy, figurine, furniture concept, or other decorative object. Results are visual ideas, not manufacturing specifications.

Fantasy and Stylized Art

Create a Look That Fits Your Imagined World

Try painted textures, stylized details, or fantasy-inspired material references on a compatible asset.

Personal 3D Experiments

See How Different References Affect One Model

Try multiple references, compare the generated appearances, and continue refining a direction you like.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT WORKFLOW

Do You Need a New Model or Just a New Look?

Creating a new shape and retexturing an existing model are different goals.

Create a New 3D Model

Choose Image to 3D or Text to 3D to generate a new object or character shape from an image or written description.

  • You do not have a 3D model yet.
  • You want a different object or character.
  • You want to explore a new shape or concept.

Retexture an Existing 3D Model

Choose AI 3D Texture Generator when you already have a model whose shape you want to use and an image to guide a new appearance.

  • You like the overall geometry of your model.
  • You want to explore colors or materials.
  • You have a reference showing the appearance you want.
  • You want another visual variation of an existing object.

Retexturing is not geometric editing. It does not add physical parts, rebuild the object’s shape, or guarantee an unchanged mesh.

UNDERSTANDING THE RESULT

New Surface Appearance, With Your Model as a Starting Point

AI retexturing focuses on appearance rather than creating an unrelated object. Inspect the result before using it in an important project.

Model Shape

Your original provides the geometry. The workflow targets surface appearance, but exact geometry preservation is not guaranteed.

Textures

New visual information is influenced by the reference. Colors, surface details, and patterns may be reinterpreted rather than copied exactly.

UV Mapping

The output may use different texture mapping or material data. The original UV layout is not guaranteed to remain identical.

Materials

The result is a textured 3D model. It does not guarantee a complete, separately downloadable PBR material set.

Animation and Rigging

Animation clips, skeletons, and skin weights are not guaranteed to remain usable. Inspect the result before continuing an animation workflow.

Fine Details

Text, logos, facial features, and intricate designs may change or be reproduced inaccurately.

EXPORT OPTIONS

Take Your New 3D Look Into Your Next Project

Preview the result in the interactive 3D viewer and choose an available output format.

GLB

Best for a Portable, Textured 3D Asset

Download the generated GLB with supported materials and appearance. GLB is commonly used for viewing, sharing, and compatible modeling workflows.

OBJ

Best for Exploring Geometry in Compatible Software

Export an OBJ-based package. Material and texture compatibility can vary, so inspect the imported model.

STL

Best for Geometry-Focused Workflows

STL exports geometry but does not retain the colored textured appearance like GLB. It is not guaranteed to be ready for 3D printing.

USDZ

Best for Compatible USD-Based Experiences

Export USDZ for supported applications. Material appearance and other features may differ after conversion.

AI generates a textured GLB first; other formats are converted from that result. Separate texture-map downloads are not currently provided.

PRACTICAL TIPS

Get More From Your AI Texturing Workflow

1

Choose a Model With a Clear Shape

Recognizable surfaces and complete geometry can make the retextured result easier to evaluate.

2

Pick One Strong Visual Direction

Use a reference that clearly communicates the colors and surface style you want.

3

Start With the Appearance, Not a Specific Pixel

Use AI texturing to explore visual directions, not to copy every pixel, label, or logo precisely.

4

Keep Your Original GLB

Save the source model so you can compare it with the result and return to it if needed.

5

Inspect All Sides of the Model

Rotate the preview; details that look good from the front may be inconsistent elsewhere.

6

Review the Exported File

Open it in your target application and check geometry, materials, mapping, and other important properties.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an AI 3D texture generator?

It uses AI to create or modify a model’s surface appearance. This tool takes an existing GLB and a reference image, then generates a newly textured version to preview and download.

How can I add textures to a 3D model using AI?

Upload a compatible GLB or choose a completed model from your account. Add a PNG, JPEG, or WebP reference image, start generation, then inspect and download the result.

Can I upload my own 3D model?

Yes. Upload a valid GLB up to 50 MB, or choose an eligible completed model in your account. Other 3D input formats are not directly accepted.

What image formats can I use as a texture reference?

PNG, JPEG, and WebP images up to 10 MB are supported. Choose a reference that clearly shows the colors, textures, patterns, or material appearance you want to explore.

Can AI change the color of my 3D model?

Yes. Color changes are among the looks you can explore with a reference image. The AI may change more than color, and there are no precise per-part color replacement controls.

Can I make my 3D model look like wood, metal, or stone?

You can use references showing wood, metal, stone, or other material appearances. The result is a visual interpretation, not a guarantee of physically accurate material properties.

Does AI texturing change the shape of my model?

The workflow focuses on surface appearance and uses the existing model as its starting point. Exact geometry preservation is not guaranteed, so inspect the resulting mesh.

Can I use an AI-generated 3D model?

Yes. Choose an eligible model previously created in your account, or upload a compatible GLB generated elsewhere if you have permission to use it.

Can I generate textures for a 3D character?

Yes, compatible characters can be retextured. Surface colors, clothing, and other details may change. Inspect facial features and complex details carefully.

Can I use this tool for game assets?

You can explore new appearances for props, objects, and compatible characters. The result is not automatically game-ready; check materials, mesh integrity, performance, and rigging data.

Can I change only one part of my 3D model?

The current workspace has no precise region controls, masking, or brush for targeting individual surfaces. It generates an overall new surface appearance from your model and reference.

Can I use a text prompt instead of a reference image?

No. The current workflow uses a reference image and does not provide a separate text prompt for texture changes.

Does this tool create PBR textures?

It generates a textured 3D model, but does not guarantee every PBR material channel or provide them separately. For image-based starter maps, see Image to PBR Texture Maps.

Can I download texture images separately?

No. The current workflow provides the retextured 3D model, not a separate set of albedo, normal, roughness, or other texture-map images.

What 3D formats can I download?

The workspace offers GLB, OBJ, STL, and USDZ. AI generation produces a textured GLB first; other formats are converted from it. Texture and material behavior can differ, especially in STL.

Can I use the result in Blender?

Blender supports common formats such as GLB and OBJ. Import the compatible output and inspect geometry, materials, and texture appearance before continuing.

Will the original UV mapping be preserved?

Not necessarily. Retexturing may produce different texture mapping or material data; the original UV layout is not guaranteed to remain identical.

Will the model keep its skeleton and animations?

Existing skeletons, skin weights, and animation clips are not guaranteed to remain usable after processing. Inspect the export carefully if animation matters.

How many credits does AI 3D texturing cost?

Each texture generation task costs 60 credits. Creating a source model, if needed, is a separate workflow with its own cost. The requirement is shown before you start.

Is AI 3D texture generation free?

No. Sign in and have sufficient credits to submit a job. The current workflow does not include free AI texture generation.

How long does AI 3D texturing take?

Processing time varies with the model and current queue. The workspace displays the result when the job finishes; completion times are not guaranteed.

What happens if my texture generation fails?

Recognized processing failures and timeouts are handled by the job recovery and credit refund process. Contact support if a failed task does not receive the expected refund. A completed result that is not your preferred style is not automatically a processing failure.
